Built On Tradition, Served With Care Every Day

Where It All Began

Where It All Began

The original Peddler Steakhouse traces its roots to a hotel in Florence, South Carolina, where a traveling salesman began cooking steaks to order for hotel guests. The concept quickly gained popularity, leading to the opening of the first Peddler restaurant nearby. From there, The Peddler expanded with locations across Virginia, the Carolinas, and Tennessee.
A Boone Tradition Since 1968

A Boone Tradition Since 1968

The Peddler Steakhouse of Boone was established in 1968 by Bob and Shirley Roche and has remained a Boone institution ever since. We have never moved from our original location at 1972 Blowing Rock Road, and our interior remained largely unchanged until a major dining room renovation in 2022.

Family-Owned & Independently Operated

The Peddler of Boone has been owned by the same family since 1972. Originally part of a franchise, The Peddler franchise disbanded in the mid-1990s, and each location has been an independent local restaurant ever since.
